My name is Xixi Yang and I am a painter. Welcome to my personal website.
There are often countless ways to introduce someone, let alone their art. I too have a number of things to say, but for the fear of being overly pretentious, I should probably take it a step at a time:
I started from still lifes and graphite sketches, but it has been awhile since I have touched them. My focus now is primarily on Expressionism. I much prefer using my two palms, as well as my knuckles, to explore the nature of the oil colors that I use. I adore vibrant colors, the mesmerizing sensation that they provide. It is hardly ever the case that I am able to accomplish a work sitting down in one go. Perhaps, due to my personality, I enjoy sharing an interactive experience with the work that I am creating.
Speaking of personality, I do have this somewhat weird view of myself. I hope it is not too deranged: a train. Not just any train, but a freight train. One that is destined to pull its weight and make stops along the way. A train itself does not know the way. Its driver does. It does not decide its cargo. Corpo does. I use, I am used, I drive, I am driven. Like the countless types of carriages that a train may tow, countless experiences embody me through my journey. Each portraying a story of their own, their cumulative power are the essence of my art. I express that of who I am.
Here, I conclude. I hope you can have your own view of the art that you see.
